Another ca.org weekly challenge image- from the awesome new Illustration of the Week this time! The theme for this one was Ragnarok, and I chose to do Odin vs. Fenrir.

Allfather rode at full gallop atop Sleipnir, knowing well that this would be his final battle. The mighty wolf whose eyes were fiery snarled, barring his fangs dripping with blood and poison. All around the armies of Asgard and Loke to pause to watch as the Wisest of the Aesir rode to his fate.
Gungir flew and struck the beast in his face, but the foul wolfish grin grew before Fenrir's foul maw gaped wide, charging at his hated foe. Munin and Hugin cried out in horror, diving into the wolf's eyes and tried feebly to deter the mightest beast of Loke's host. But Fenrir charged on undetered, and came upon Allfather.
Amidst the din of Ragnarok, a silence broke out followed by the final cries of Sleipnir and Odin's final breath...

A trully wonderful scene! The action, the manners and the characters are impresivly well done. Odin is perfect and I loved how you managed to paint the eight legs of Sleipnir. Fenrir is brilliant, menacing and trully powerful, as a son of Loki would be. This picture, this artwork, is pure epicness, and you skills are IMPRESIVE.
